Cabot
Divers was first formed as a BSAC branch in July 1992 by a group of
12 like-minded divers who had known and dived with each other for several
years.
By
the first anniversary of the formation of the club, the total membership
had grown to 28 and by summer of 1995, the membership had peaked at
approximately 40 members, of various grades and levels of experience,
from all walks of life. The membership includes a number of nationally
qualified instructors who, during the early years of the club, provided
diver grade training and many skill development courses.
Cabot
Divers is a safety-conscious club and has its own safety equipment,
for which training and refresher courses can be arranged.
Cabot
Divers is a club committed to diving in the UK and all members are encouraged
to organise dives. Consequently, the annual dive programme is comprehensive
and varied in terms of location and types of dive. Our primary area
of operation is the South West of England, though trips have also been
made to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Scillies and foreign destinations.
